Why Most People Use Vibrational Frequency Charts Wrong (And How to Actually Benefit from One)

Vibrational frequency charts are everywhere in the spiritual world. You’ve probably seen them — colorful graphics mapping emotions to frequencies, chakras to colors, consciousness levels to numbers. They look clear and organized. The problem is, most people look at them, nod, feel inspired for a few minutes, and then have no idea what to do with the information.
Here’s the deeper issue: a vibration chart is only useful if you know where you are on it. Think of it like mathematics. Imagine deciding to improve your math skills but having no idea whether you’re at a 2nd-grade or 8th-grade level — so you just open a random 10th-grade textbook and start reading. You’d get frustrated and quit within a week. The textbook isn’t the problem. You are, because you skipped the diagnostic step.
The same thing happens with energy healing. People discover a vibration chart, try whichever practice sounds appealing, and wonder why nothing changes. They’re applying the right tools at the wrong level. In this article I’ll explain the different types of frequency charts that exist, why most approaches to using them fail, and how to actually use a vibration chart as a practical tool for growth — starting with figuring out where you stand.

The Different Types of Vibrational Frequency Charts
Not all vibration charts measure the same thing. There are several distinct types, each coming from a different tradition and serving a different purpose:
Emotional frequency charts map human emotions to vibrational levels — from the densest states like shame, grief, and fear at the bottom, up through anger, courage, and acceptance, to love, joy, and peace at the top. The most well-known version in popular spirituality is the Hawkins Scale, which assigns numerical values (measured in Hz) to emotional states. Since I discovered a number of obvious incongruences in Hawkin’s scale, I’ve developed my own emotional vibration chart based on my spiritual research, which maps dominant emotions to each of the seven chakra levels. The key difference is that mine is based on what I’ve directly observed in thousands of readings, not on theoretical frameworks.

Chakra frequency charts focus on the seven major energy centers in the human body, each governing a different aspect of our physical, emotional, and spiritual life. These are used in yoga traditions, in many spiritual schools, and in my own practice. I’ve written a detailed chakra-by-chakra map that includes the specific openness percentages I’ve measured for each chakra, along with the beliefs blocking each one and the most effective remedies.
Planetary and elemental frequency charts come from traditions like astrology and Chinese spiritual schools (Taoism). Planetary charts map the vibrational influence of celestial bodies on our personal energy fields. Elemental charts work with earth, water, fire, air, and their corresponding frequencies. These are real systems with long histories, but they’re specialized tools — not where most people should start.
For practical personal development, the most useful charts are the emotional and chakra-based ones, because they give you a direct way to locate yourself and identify what needs work.
Why Most People Get No Results From These Charts
The core mistake I see, again and again, is this: people look at a vibration chart, identify where they want to be, and then try to jump there directly. For instance, they read that love vibrates higher than anger, so they try to “choose love.” They learn that the heart chakra is about compassion, so they start doing heart meditations. The intention is good, but it skips the most important step: knowing where you actually are right now.
From measuring thousands of people’s soul and body vibrations, I’ve found that the average person vibrates at about 3.4 on the chakra scale. That’s somewhere between the solar plexus (personal power, ego) and the heart chakra (love, connection). Most people’s chakras are only 1–8% open. These are the starting conditions for the vast majority of humanity.
If your root chakra is only 2% open and full of survival fears, doing crown chakra meditations won’t help you. If your solar plexus is blocked by ego patterns and lack of life direction, working on your third eye won’t clear the blockage below it. Energy systems build from the bottom up! You can’t skip levels any more than you can skip the foundation of a building and start on the third floor.
This is why so many people feel like energy healing “doesn’t work for them.” It’s not that the tools are fake. It’s that they’re being applied without a diagnosis and a reasonable starting point. A vibration chart without a reading of where you stand on it is just a pretty picture.
The Hierarchy of Energy Healing Tools
Once you know where you stand, the next question is which tools to use. Here too, most people get it backwards. They start with the easiest, most pleasant tools (crystals, sound baths, aromatherapy) and wonder why the deeper patterns don’t shift. There’s a reason for that: different tools work at different depths, and the depth determines how lasting the results are.
Level 1: Tools that work on physical and energetic symptoms. Sound therapy (tuning forks, singing bowls, binaural beats), crystal healing, aromatherapy, Reiki, and similar modalities all work on the lower energy fields of the body. They can ease symptoms, restore some energetic flow, and create a sense of relief. What they don’t do is address the root cause of the imbalance. Think of them as energy-level painkillers — helpful, but the underlying issue will reassert itself if you stop.

Level 2: Tools that work on awareness and pattern recognition. Meditation, spiritual journaling, guided visualization, and self-inquiry practices (introspection) help you become aware of your patterns — the recurring thoughts, emotions, and reactions that keep you stuck at a particular vibrational level. Awareness is a major step forward from symptom management, because once you see a pattern clearly, you stop running it unconsciously. But awareness alone doesn’t always remove the pattern.
Level 3: Tools that work on root causes. Releasing limiting beliefs from the subconscious is the deepest level of work. These beliefs — about survival, ego, worthiness, power, love, truth, understanding, and connection to the divine — are what keep each chakra blocked in the first place. Removing them changes your vibration at the source, permanently. It takes longer and requires more commitment, but it’s the only approach that resolves issues at their origin rather than managing their effects.
The most effective approach combines all three levels: use Level 1 tools to ease immediate discomfort, Level 2 tools to understand what’s happening, and Level 3 work to remove the cause. But if you have to choose just one, choose Level 3. Everything else is maintenance without it.

How to Actually Use a Vibration Chart for Growth
Step 1: Get your actual reading. Before you do anything else, find out where your soul and body currently vibrate on the chakra scale, and how open each of your chakras is. You can do this through a soul and body vibration reading — I offer a suite of spiritual readings, including a free one on my site. This gives you your personal coordinates on the chart, not a guess.
Step 2: Identify your lowest blocked chakra. Your growth is limited by the lowest chakra that’s significantly blocked. This is where your work needs to focus first. If your root chakra is only 3% open, that’s your starting point regardless of how much you’d prefer to work on your third eye for instance.
Step 3: Match the right tools to the right level. Use the hierarchy above. Start with beliefs release
work targeting the specific beliefs blocking that chakra (survival fears for the root, relationship patterns for the sacral, ego patterns for the solar plexus, and so on). Support that work with meditation and journaling to build awareness. Use energy-level tools like sound or crystals as complementary support, not as your primary approach.
Step 4: Measure again. After a period of focused work, get another reading to see what’s shifted. This closes the feedback loop and keeps you honest about your progress. Without measurement, it’s too easy to mistake intellectual understanding for actual vibrational change.
This four-step process turns a vibration chart from a decorative graphic into a working tool. It’s the difference between looking at a map and actually navigating with one.
The Chart Is the Map, Not the Territory
Vibrational frequency charts are useful. They give structure to something that can otherwise feel abstract and overwhelming. But a map only helps if you know your current location, your destination, and the best route between them.
Start with where you are, not where you wish you were! Apply the tools that work at the deepest level, not just the ones that feel pleasant. Measure your progress instead of guessing. That’s how you turn a frequency chart into an actual path of spiritual growth.
If you want to find your current position on the chart, start with a free soul and body vibration reading. If you’re ready to work on what’s keeping your vibration low, a limiting beliefs healing session targets the root causes directly. And if you want the full structured path — diagnosis, tools, feedback, guidance — that’s exactly what the Body & Soul Ascension Spiritual Academy provides, level by level, from where you are now to your highest potential.
